Bree Hope Conscious Parenting Coach

I am a certified elementary teacher with a Masters degree in TESOL k-12 and a certification in strategic interventions and life coaching. I am also a spiritual intuitive healer, empath and have worked with children of all ages, in the U.S. and abroad, for 12 years. As an elementary teacher, I have seen and experienced firsthand the gaps in both private and public education systems and quickly became aware that most of my students were failing due to the constant un-acknowledgement of their social and emotional well-being. I saw how the lack of getting to students basic human needs (connection to self, others, and the world around them) created conflict and challenges to their academic learning and their ability to form healthy relationships with adults and peers.

During my last year teaching, the year that led me to the programs I deliver to you today, most of my students were failing (a sign not that they didn’t study) and their behavior was very troubling to me as they threw desks, cursed, were violent with themselves and others. I knew there was a deep pain inside that, according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs meant that their basic human needs weren’t being met which therefore meant, that learning would be difficult and challenging to retain. I also knew that their behavior was a nervous system response to trauma – fight, flight, or freeze.  So, I did what I do best and I researched as many holistic approaches to bring safety back into their minds, body, and souls.

I found an amazing documentary from Mindfulschools.org and learned from professionals who were trained in Brain Gym to bring both hemispheres back into alignment. (When a child has experienced trauma, it is challenging for the nervous system to come back into a state of equilibrium unless there is a safe adult with a regulated nervous system that can immediately soothe the child. Therefore, in most instances, if this is not the case, one hemisphere of the brain shuts off and students cannot think clearly and that is when you experience “negative” behavior and emotional outbursts. AKA them trying to get their needs met. Most children are not seen when they have experienced a trauma and in some cases the trauma is repeated, or passed down so the parent themselves can’t soothe the child and the nervous system stays trapped like that, creating more unwanted experiences that get them worked up).

After about 6 weeks of consistent mindfulness practices, brain gym each morning, and a short meditation practice after recess (when students systems would be the most heightened and aroused), my classroom had a complete transformation. My students became the model students in the building, they were able to advocate for their needs, de-escalate situations, healthier relationships with their peers and more respect/clear communication with me, and their test scores improved! Slowly, the whole school began to implement my strategies.

In 2016, I became a life coach because I knew I didn’t have the resources to support students who came to me with deeper trauma that they couldn’t heal. I wanted more tools because I care so deeply for all children and truly love holistic and spiritual teachings as, I found for my own life, the transformation and empowerment is almost instantaneous.

My life healing myself and learning these amazing energetic mastery tools gave me the ability to shift my programming and step even more out of my own shell of limiting beliefs, things I also carried with me from childhood. Then, I began guiding women and men to do the same, to recognize emotions and energy and heal. No more lifetimes of carrying the same thing around. But, I missed my work with kids.

For the past 5 years now, I incorporated all my skills and professional experience and certifications and began working as a education consultant. I wrote a Social-emotional guide, published by a well-known Edtech company to support schools over the US to meet students needs. I’ve led nearly 100 workshops with teachers, administrators, after school organizations focusing on social-emotional learning, self care, trauma, restorative practices. I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve also supported students with public speaking skills, acknowledging their intuitive gifts, to trust in themselves.

Here is the biggest take-away I’ve had in all my work with teachers, parents, and kids: IT ALL COMES BACK TO SOUL. When you talk about the Self and how to acknowledge your emotions, most people want ask “Why do I feel the way I do?” “Why am I here?” “How did I know that,” Every workshop, the people I’ve met yearn for this information. We all want to know why we are here. What makes us do and behave and love the way we do. And that, that is why I am here.

Every kid I’ve worked with is intuitive. We all are born with gifts and then we wake up in our late twenties wondering when we lost that. So we start to read spiritual books, see therapists, choose different ways of being all to come back to the Truth we once knew when we were younger. We were all born enlightened and then life (small L) covered us. This is why I say, let’s raise children that don’t have to heal from their childhoods. This is my gift and service to the world. If you’d like me to guide you, please schedule an appointment today. I am here for you.
